BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Hengyi Industries Sdn. Bhd., a petrochemical joint venture between Brunei and China, signed scholarship agreements with 20 students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam on Thursday.
The signing ceremony took place in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital city of Brunei Darussalam, marking the 11th group of students to be awarded scholarships through the Joint Chemical and Process Engineering Scholarship Program. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Hengyi Industries, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and Zhejiang University in China.
"We are delighted to sign scholarship agreements with 20 students. After completing their 1.5-year course at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, they will proceed to Zhejiang University for the next phase of their studies," said Chen Liancai, CEO of Hengyi Industries.
The scholarship program has extended its support to a total of 187 students. The scholarship encompasses a comprehensive four-year educational plan, which includes two years of academic studies at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, one and a half years at Zhejiang University, and a six-month internship at Hengyi Industries. ■
