SINGAPORE, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Changi Airport will finish a new solar panel system by 2025, which can reduce carbon emissions by 20,000 tonnes annually, according to the airport Wednesday.
The system will cover rooftop areas of Changi Airport's terminal buildings, terminal auxiliary structures, cargo buildings, and turf areas away from aircraft operation fields.
Once ready in early 2025, the solar panel system will have a combined generation capacity of 43 megawatt peak, the airport said.
The solar panel system should comply with aviation security and fire safety requirements, according to the airport. ■
