KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A landslide at a popular tourist destination in Malaysia's Pahang state resulted in one death, with four more victims believed to be buried early Friday morning.
The authorities received a distress call at 2:51 a.m. local time (1851 GMT) for the disaster which struck in Cameron Highlands district, Pahang Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Ismail Abdul Ghani said in a statement.
"Based on preliminary information, there are three adult men and one adult woman still buried in the landslide," he said, adding that search and rescue efforts are ongoing. ■
