KABUL, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan exported goods worth 166.5 million U.S. dollars in November 2023, the state-run news agency Bakhtar reported Tuesday.

Based on a statement of the National Bureau of Statistics and Information, the state-controlled media outlet added "Afghanistan's exports witnessed a remarkable upswing during November 2023, with the total value reaching an impressive 166.5 million U.S. dollars."

The press agency, however, did not provide information on the volume of imports during the same period.

In the meantime, private media outlet Ariana News has reported that the country's import was registered at 791 million U.S. dollars in November 2023.

The Afghan products were mostly exported to Pakistan, India and the United Arab Emirates in November 2023, while the exports in 2022 were largely to Pakistan, India and China.

However, the imports mostly came from Iran, Pakistan and China in November 2022 and November 2023.

The volume of Afghanistan's exports in 2023 reached 1.9 billion U.S. dollars and the figure shows a 2-percent increase, which is equal to 41 million U.S. dollars against the export volume in 2022, spokesman for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad said.
