ULAN BATOR, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia has set a new Guinness world record for "the most people downing an ice slide in one hour," local media reported on Monday, citing the country's Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
A total of 408 people slid down on the 12-meter-wide and 18-meter-long ice slide in an hour, setting the Guinness world record during an international ice and snow festival that opened here on Sunday to promote winter tourism, the ministry said in a statement.
Mongolian Minister of Environment and Tourism Bat-Ulzii Bat-Erdene was awarded a Guinness World Records certificate for the achievement. ■
