VIENTIANE, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's visit to Laos helps strengthen bilateral friendly ties, mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries, Lao national TV reported on Monday.
During her visit, which started on Friday, Sirindhorn met with Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith to discuss the friendly relations between Laos and Thailand.
Thongloun said he highly valued the princess's visit, adding that it further consolidated the cooperative relations between Laos and Thailand since the two countries elevated their bilateral ties.
The princess also attended an event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Laos' Huayxone-Huayxua Agricultural Development Service Center, a cooperation project between the two sides.
The princess said she had enjoyed her visit in Laos and praised the continuing development in the country, expressing the belief that bilateral ties would grow even stronger in the future, according to the report. ■
