SEOUL, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's artificial intelligence (AI) portal startup Wrtn Technologies said on Tuesday that it aimed to become Asia's biggest AI portal service provider based on expectations that the AI industry would be centered on AI platform providers.
"Wrtn continues to target Asia's top generative AI platform provider spanning Japan, the Middle East and Southeast Asia by going beyond its status as the local No. 1 generative AI platform," Wrtn Chief Executive Lee Se-young told a press conference in Seoul.
The number of monthly active users (MAU) for Wrtn has grown 35 times to over 1.4 million from March, tantamount to a week-over-week growth rate of around 10 percent for the past nine months.
Lee said the generative AI market finished its first phase, which was driven by AI model developers such as OpenAI, and transit itself into a second phase in which AI platform providers would start to emerge as a portal to link a rising number of AI applications and large language model (LLM) generative AI models.
"It resembles the early web service market," said Lee. "When considering how such websites as real estate or stock information sites in the early days of the web market were reorganized after the emergence of a portal, the generative AI market will see lots of (AI) applications absorbed into the mega (AI) platforms."
According to Lee, the third phase of the generative AI market would be opened when the mega platform providers go into play. ■
