VIENTIANE, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Laos is considering ways to improve the management of iron ore and rare ore projects in order to meet the government's vision and bring them in line with the mineral development strategy.

The goal was discussed at a consultation meeting chaired by Lao Minister of Energy and Mines Phoxay Sayasone in the Lao capital of Vientiane on Nov. 29, according to Laopattana report on Tuesday.

The meeting also focused on research and unity within the ministry on ways to improve planning, licensing and mine management in a bid to follow the five-year energy and mining development plan for 2021-2025.

So far, the Lao government has approved domestic and foreign investors to invest in 505 projects and 382 companies in the mining sector.
