KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The counter-narcotics police have discovered illicit drugs, including 100 kg of hashish, in south Afghanistan's Kandahar province, said a statement of provincial police office on Thursday.
The contraband, which includes 100 kg of hashish and 19 kg of objects used in manufacturing heroin, was discovered in a car in the provincial capital Kandahar city on Wednesday, the statement said.
No one has been arrested, the statement added.
The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to fight against criminal activities including business of illegal drugs, cultivation of illicit crops including poppy, processing to drugs and drug trafficking until the once-poppy growing country gets rid of the drug menace. ■
