TOKYO, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Japan's tallest skyscraper was opened to the public on Friday as a new landmark in Tokyo.

The Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower, about 330 meters high, is located near the well-known landscape of Tokyo Tower.

Prior to the completion of the Azabudai Hills building, the tallest skyscraper in Japan was the 300-meter Abeno Harukas located in Osaka.

The tower is part of the Azabudai Hills complex, an 8-hectare plot being redeveloped by Japan's leading urban landscape developer Mori Building Co., Ltd. in the Toranomon and Azabudai districts of Minato District.

Other than various restaurants and shops, institutions and facilities opened to the public in the multi-use complex include the Keio University Center for Preventive Medicine and the British School in Tokyo.

The tower will also feature the Tokyo Venture Capital Hub and the Mori Building Digital Art Museum.
