YANGON, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar earned 271 million U.S. dollars from the export of 583,683 tons of rice and broken rice within seven months in the current fiscal year 2023-2024, according to the figures from the Myanmar Rice Federation on Tuesday.
The Southeast Asian country exported rice and broken rice to more than 20 countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, China and Belgium, it said.
Myanmar expects to export more than 2 million tons of rice in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, U Ye Min Aung, president of Myanmar Rice Federation, has told Xinhua. ■
