YANGON, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 2.68 million stimulant tablets in southern Myanmar, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC).
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police searched a vehicle in Kyaikhto township of Mon state on Oct. 30, and confiscated 810,000 stimulant tablets on the vehicle, it said.
The team also searched a wedding hall in Oktwin township of Bago region on Oct. 31, and seized 1.87 million stimulant tablets, it added.
The total amount of seized drugs was 2.68 million stimulant tablets worth over 4.4 billion kyats (2.1 million U.S. dollars), the committee said.
The investigation revealed that the confiscated drugs was conveyed from Shan state to Kayin state.
The suspects who were involved in the case were charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, it said. ■
