HANOI, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Four tourists were killed in Vietnam's central highlands province of Lam Dong on Tuesday after a jeep carrying them to explore a tourism village was swept away by rising floodwaters, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.
The identities of the four victims, including two men and two women, have not been clarified.
The tourists were experiencing the jeep service traveling on terrain across streams in Cu Lan Village Tourist Area, Lac Duong District, when the incident occurred.
The VNA cited a representative of the tourist area as saying that an unexpected flash food swept the jeep away when it almost reached its final destination.
The incident occurred at a curvy section of the stream where the water was not too deep, according to the VNA. ■
