BEIJING, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 48 km SSE of Karakenja, Tajikistan at 14:03:40 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 13.6 km, was initially determined to be at 38.82 degrees north latitude and 71.69 degrees east longitude. ■
