KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The construction work of a new health center has been completed in Shah Wali Kot district of south Afghanistan's Kandahar province, the provincial health authorities said on Saturday.
According to a statement, the project was completed in six months. The center will provide health services to 10,000 people annually in the district and adjoining areas.
In another development, a medical device of oxygen generation, at a cost of 500,000 U.S. dollars, was activated on Friday in Mirwais Hospital based in the provincial capital city of Kandahar, which would help solve an oxygen supply shortage locally. ■
