ISLAMABAD, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Adhering to the visionary concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, China has been playing an exemplary role in promoting fairer, more just and inclusive global human rights governance, a Pakistani expert has said.

China's major global initiatives including the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative are particularly relevant to the improvement of global human rights governance, Farhat Asif, president of an Islamabad-based think-tank, said in a recent interview with Xinhua.

"The emphasis on promoting human rights through development aligns with the idea that sustainable development is a key driver of improved human rights conditions," the president of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies said, highlighting that economic growth, access to education, healthcare, and basic amenities are central to the realization of human rights.

Asif underlined that China's policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign nations remained crucial in safeguarding the sovereignty and dignity of all nations.

"Unlike some Western nations, China does not impose its values, culture or political systems on others, which resonates with many developing countries seeking to chart their own paths to development and self-determination, an approach that is often appreciated by many countries in the developing world," she added.

Also, China's promotion of exchanges and cooperation with other countries in the field of human rights fosters a culture of mutual learning and understanding, she said, adding that by sharing experiences and best practices, China has contributed to the development of a more just and inclusive global human rights system.

Noting that the challenges of unbalanced, unsustainable development and the politicization of human rights remained significant impediments to the advancement of human society, Asif called for a cooperative and inclusive approach to addressing global challenges.

"China's approach encourages countries to work together in a spirit of cooperation rather than confrontation, which can help reduce the politicization of human rights issues and create a more conducive environment for dialogue," she added.

Focusing on the interconnectedness of nations and the shared future of humanity, China's ideas and initiatives in the realm of global human rights governance offer a promising path toward further progress in the global human rights cause.
