TOKYO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Japanese high school student was arrested after injuring three people with a knife on Monday in a commercial facility in northeastern Japan, according to local police.
At around 11:20 local time, the local police received an emergency call reporting that a male had attacked a customer with a knife in the shopping mall of Riverside Senshu in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
According to the Niigata Prefectural Police, three victims, two female customers and a male store employee, sustained injuries to their necks and other body parts during the knifing attack, but their lives were not in danger.
The 18-year-old suspect, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, reported no prior acquaintance with the three victims, according to the police.
Local authorities are investigating the details of the incident. ■
