YANGON, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Sixty-three people were killed and 206 others injured on Myanmar's Yangon-Mandalay highway in the first eight months of 2023, the Nay Pyi Taw Expressway Traffic Police Force said on Monday.

A total of 106 road crashes have occurred on the busiest highway in Myanmar between January and August, causing damage worth 325.87 million kyats (about 155,176 U.S. dollars), it said.

Human errors such as overspeeding, negligent driving, and drowsy driving are mostly blamed for highway accidents in the country, it added.
