KHOST, Afghanistan, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and seven others injured as a blast shocked Khost city of east Afghanistan's Khost Province on Monday, according to a statement of the provincial government.
Security personnel have cordoned off the blast area, and further investigations are underway to determine the related facts, the statement said.
It said the blast occurred inside a hotel in the provincial capital at around 11 a.m. local time when some refugees back from Pakistan's Waziristan region and Khost residents were present.
The injured persons were taken to the hospital, it added. ■
