MAIDAN SHAR, Afghanistan, July 16 (Xinhua) -- A weapon cache was discovered in east Afghanistan's Wardak province, said a statement of the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) on Sunday.
The weapon cache contained one anti-aircraft gun of D-SH-K type, one mortar, two RPGs, one mortar shell of 82mm caliber and thousands of bullets from the Behsoud district, the statement said.
The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to collect arms and ammunition from anyone outside the security forces and has collected thousands of pieces of military equipment including combat tanks and armored military vehicles since taking over the country's power in August 2021. ■
