PHNOM PENH, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia has called for local companies and enterprises to participate in the sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held on Nov. 5-10 in China's Shanghai, according to a Ministry of Commerce's statement on Thursday.
The statement said the Ministry of Commerce will lead a trade delegation to join the expo, saying that it will be a great opportunity for exhibitors to explore new business partners in China and across the globe.
"The CIIE is one of China's major trade events and has become a significant business platform for international cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment and diplomatic relations between China and all participating countries," the statement said.
Cambodian Ministry of Commerce's Undersecretary of State and Spokesman Penn Sovicheat said the Southeast Asian country had joined the expo every year since 2018.
"The expo is a unique opportunity for foreign companies to showcase their products and services and to interact with their Chinese local partners," he told Xinhua. "The expo is also crucial to help further boost trade and investment volumes between Cambodia and China." ■
