TOKYO, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The 50 Top Pizza, an annual ranking in the pizza industry, on Tuesday awarded the best pizzerias in the Asia-Pacific region as pizza chefs from different countries and regions gathered in Tokyo for the event.
The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo, ranked first in the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific list, followed by Bottega in Beijing and Pizzeria Peppe Napoli sta' ca" in Tokyo.
Japan took the top spot in this year's ranking with the highest number of awards, with 14 pizzerias included on the list, followed closely by Australia with 10.
The event, held in the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, aims to recognize and promote excellence in the pizza industry, according to event organizer.
The top 15 pizzerias in the 2023 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific list on Tuesday got a "gold ticket," which guaranteed them an entry into the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World that is due to be announced on Sept. 13 in Naples, Italy. ■
