QALAT, Afghanistan, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have destroyed 44 acres of poppy farm in the southern Zabul province, said a statement of the provincial police office released here Monday.
Police have launched an anti-poppy campaign last week and so far have destroyed 44 acres of poppy farm including four acres in Police District 4 of Qalat city, the statement said.
Afghan police have also destroyed 76 acres of poppy farm in the northern Balkh and Baghlan provinces over the past couple of weeks. ■
