YANGON, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar attracted more than 1.64 billion U.S. dollars in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the 2022-23 fiscal year, according to figures released by the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) on Saturday.
The country's 2022-23 fiscal year started on April 1 last year and ended on March 31 this year. During the period, the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) approved 87 foreign investment enterprises.
During the fiscal year, the power sector attracted the most foreign investment, with over 820.27 million dollars, followed by the services sector with over 504.12 million dollars and the manufacturing sector with over 271.8 million dollars.
Singapore, China and Thailand are the largest investors in Myanmar. ■
