KABUL, March 22 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and around 20 others injured in a strong earthquake hitting Afghanistan on Tuesday night, spokesman for the public health ministry of the Afghan caretaker government Sharafat Zaman Amar said Wednesday.
The 6.5-magnitude quake hit the Afghan capital Kabul and several provinces in the country at 09:17 p.m. local time on Tuesday night, the country's national disaster management authority said on its Twitter account.
It said the epicenter of the tremor was in the northern Badakhshan province. ■
