HONG KONG, March 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted North Island of New Zealand at 15:46 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 38.0709 degrees south latitude and 176.6406 degrees east longitude. ■
