Myanmar attracts over 1.62 bln USD FDI in 11 months

YANGON, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar attracted more than 1.62 billion U.S. dollars in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2022-23 starting in April last year, according to figures released by the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) on Thursday.

From April 1 last year to Feb. 28 this year, the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) approved 73 foreign investment enterprises.

During the period, the power sector attracted most foreign investment with capital of over 820.27 million dollars, followed by the services sector with over 500.91 million dollars and the manufacturing sector with over 258.02 million dollars, the DICA's figures showed.

Singapore, China and Thailand are largest investors in Myanmar.
