KABUL, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Afghan Police during search operations in Afghanistan's capital Kabul discovered arms and ammunition including five assault rifles on Monday, a police officer Hajji Shir Ali said.
The operation, according to the official, was conducted in Karta-e-Char locality of Police District 3 Monday morning, during which police found five AK-47 assault rifles, two pistols and a few more pieces of military equipment.
In similar operations on Sunday, police collected a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including anti-tank and anti-personnel mines in the northern Jawzjan province. ■
