HANOI, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Police of southern Vietnam's An Giang province have arrested two local men for trafficking 18.6 kg of drugs from Cambodia, local media reported.
The two men, aged 27 and 32, were caught red-handed transporting the drugs in An Giang province on Friday night, Vietnam News Agency reported on Saturday.
The authorities are further investigating the case, said the report.
According to Vietnamese law, those convicted of smuggling over 600 grams of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine could face the death penalty. ■
