ISLAMABAD, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- A terrorist was killed in a counter-terror operation in North Waziristan district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Saturday night.
The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on Saturday in Mir Ali area of the district, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
"During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists, resulting in the killing of a terrorist," the ISPR said.
Weapons and ammunition were also seized from the killed terrorist, it added. ■
