QALAT, Afghanistan, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- A total of nine commuters were injured as a bus turned turtle in Afghanistan's southern Zabul province on Wednesday, a statement from the provincial Police department released here Thursday said.
The accident took place late on Wednesday in Gajoi area of Shajoi district when the driver lost control of the bus, leaving nine injured with some in critical condition, the statement said.
Congested roads, old vehicles and reckless driving are the main reasons for road accidents in the country.
A similar road accident in the country's eastern Laghman province claimed one life and injured another early on Wednesday.
A road accident on Tuesday killed one commuter and injured two others in western Herat province. ■
