ISLAMABAD, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and five others injured on Sunday when a truck turned turtle near Dera Ghazi Khan city of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, the rescue service reported.

According to the reports, the accident took place early morning on Taunsa road on the outskirts of the city after the truck driver lost control of the vehicle carrying vegetables, and overturned over a couple of trolley rickshaws.

The rescue workers said that the accident occurred due to dense fog as possibly something suddenly appeared in front of the truck, resulting in the casualties of the people in the rickshaws.

The rescuers immediately reached the site and shifted the victims to a local hospital, according to the rescue service.

The number of road accidents in Pakistan has significantly increased these days due to dense fog in the eastern and southern parts of the South Asian country.
