Uzbek president appoints new acting foreign minister

TASHKENT, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Bakhtiyor Saidov has been appointed as Uzbekistan's acting foreign minister under the presidential decree, the president's press service said on Friday.

Saidov, previously served as the country's minister of public education, took over the job from Vladimir Norov, who would be transfered to another job, according to the press service.

Saidov had worked as Uzbekistan's ambassador to China, Mongolia and the Philippines with residence in Beijing.
