NEW DELHI, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Construction activities, barring the essentials ones, were once again banned in Delhi and surrounding areas, often referred to as National Capital Region (NCR), on Friday in the wake of rising air pollution, according to an order issued by the Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM).
The CAQM said that the air quality in Delhi and NCR had deteriorated to the "Severe" category.
The construction activities that will be allowed include projects of Indian Railways, Delhi Metro, airports and bus terminals, hospitals, highways, flyovers, bridges and sanitation projects. ■
