ZARANJ, Afghanistan, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have discovered and destroyed a drug lab in Afghanistan's western Nimroz province, provincial director of counter-narcotics police Mawlawi Mohammad Mohajer said Tuesday.
"Acting on a tip-off, the units of counter-narcotic police launched an operation in Plousha village of Delaram district on Monday, discovered a drug lab and destroyed it," Mohajer told reporters here.
Mohajer said the police also found a huge quantity of materials used in manufacturing heroin.
Afghan authorities have intensified crackdown on illicit drugs and those involved in the business. ■
