FIROZ KOAH, Afghanistan, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces have destroyed two drug labs in Afghanistan's western Ghor province, a police statement said Thursday.
The counter-narcotic police discovered two drug processing plants and a huge quantity of hashish in Dawlatyar district of the province and set them on fire on Wednesday, the statement said.
Police have also recently discovered more than 11 tons of illicit drugs including opium poppy and hashish in Bagrami area of Kabul and arrested three alleged drug traffickers.
The Taliban-run administration has banned poppy cultivation, processing and trafficking as part of efforts to eliminate drug menace. ■
