KABUL, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Taliban-caretaker administration has announced an investigation into a reported clash at the Spin Boldak border recently, which killed a Pakistani soldier.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, besides expressing regret and grief over the issue which left a Pakistani soldier dead, has appointed a delegation to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to justice," Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for the administration, said in a statement posted on his twitter account.

In the clash reported on Sunday, the Pakistani border guard was killed and two others were injured.

Spin Boldak connects Afghanistan's Kandahar to Pakistan's Quetta city, and the incident has led to closure of the border through which thousands of Afghans cross to Pakistan daily and vice versa.

"An unidentified man opened fire on the Pakistani side killing one soldier," said Mujahid.

Mujahid also noted that security organs of Afghanistan would spare no efforts to prevent the recurrence of such an incident between the two neighboring countries in the future.
