YANGON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's mid-year gems emporium concluded on Tuesday in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw, state-run Myanmar Radio and Television reported.

A total of 362 pearl lots, 55 gem lots and 1,836 jade lots were sold during the seven-day event, the report said.

The emporium has put a total of 400 pearl lots, 120 gem lots and 2,150 jade lots on sale under an open tender system during the seven days.

Both local and foreign merchants who won the tenders will have to make payments in 60 days as per contracts, it said.

The Southeast Asian country held its 57th Gems Emporium in Nay Pyi Taw in April.

The gems emporium, launched in 1964, is sponsored by Myanmar's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
