Pakistan records 52 new COVID-19 cases

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan recorded 52 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the country's ministry of health said on Wednesday.

The overall tally of the infected people climbed to 1,571,988 after adding the fresh cases, according to the data released by the ministry.

A total of 30,607 people died of COVID-19 in Pakistan, with no more deaths reported over the last 24 hours, according to the ministry.

On Tuesday, 12,077 tests for COVID-19 were conducted throughout Pakistan, and the latest positivity ratio stood at 0.43 percent.

Currently there are 73 COVID-19 patients who are in critical condition in the South Asian country.
