KABUL, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have discovered and destroyed a drug processing lab in the southern Uruzgan province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Monday.
Acting on tip-off, security forces stormed a hideout in Durafshan area outside the provincial capital Tirin Kot city on Sunday, and destroyed the heroin processing lab, the news agency added.
Police have also arrested eight people from the site on charge of involvement in producing and processing illicit drug.
The Taliban-run caretaker administration has banned poppy cultivation and drug trafficking since early April and warned to punish anyone who violates the law. ■
