MANILA, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investment (FDI) net inflows into the Philippines fell to 471 million U.S. dollars in June, 51.5 percent lower than the amount recorded in June 2021, the Philippine central bank said on Monday.

However, the FDI net inflows from January to June reached 4.6 billion U.S. dollars, 3.1 percent higher than the amount in the same period last year, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said.

The BSP said June's net inflows declined following the drop in non-residents' net investments in debt instruments of their local affiliates due to higher repayments during the month.

The BSP added that most inflows came from Japan, the United States, Singapore, and Switzerland, and channeled mainly to the manufacturing, real estate, and information and communication industries.
