KABUL, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have arrested 21 persons for suspected involvement in criminal activities over the past couple of weeks, the interior ministry said Thursday.
These people were allegedly involved in cases including robbery, gambling and drug trafficking, and were arrested in Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Kunduz and Takhar provinces, the ministry said in a statement.
Eleven of the arrested were involved in drug trafficking, the statement said.
The Taliban-run caretaker administration has vowed to crack down on outlaws as part of efforts to ensure law and order in the war-torn Asian country. ■
