COLOMBO, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Sri Lankan government donated a consignment of Ceylon tea to the flood victims of Pakistan following devastating flash floods in recent weeks, the government information department said on Wednesday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry handed over the tea to Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Umar Farooq Burki and expressed sympathies to the flood victims and solidarity with Pakistan.
Earlier this week, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe said his country is willing to provide aid to Pakistan, which is a long-standing friend of Sri Lanka. ■
