HONG KONG, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted 148 km SSW of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea at 05:37:17 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 35.0 km, was initially determined to be at 5.5246 degrees south latitude and 151.6305 degrees east longitude. ■
