PHNOM PENH, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Saturday congratulated two Cambodian taekwondo athletes on winning gold medals at the 2022 World Police and Fire Games in the Netherlands.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the Prime Minister said the two male athletes are Sam Yudeth and Va Mithona.
"It is the pride of our whole nation," Hun Sen said.
He said the Southeast Asian nation sent three taekwondo athletes to contest the tournament and Phal Sovannath, who will compete on Sunday, has a chance to win the third gold.
Over 10,000 competitors from 70 countries and regions are competing in the tournament from July 22 to 31. ■
