Malaysia reports 3,926 new COVID-19 infections, 4 more deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported 3,926 new COVID-19 infections, as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 4,668,139, according to the health ministry.

There are 23 new imported cases, with 3,903 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry's website showed.

Four deaths have been reported, pushing the death toll to 35,946.

The ministry reported 3,542 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,584,907.

There are 47,286 active cases, with 60 being held in intensive care and 35 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 16,650 vaccine doses administered on Thursday alone, while 86 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 84 percent are fully vaccinated, 49.6 percent have received the first booster and 1 percent have received the second booster.
