SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, July 28 (Xinhua) -- At least one commuter was killed and 12 others were injured in two traffic accidents in Afghanistan's northern Jawzjan and Kunduz provinces, local officials said Thursday.
One youngster lost his life and two others were critically injured as a car turned turtle in Had Bakhshi area of Jawzjan province late on Wednesday, Bismillah Nasrat, an official with the provincial information and culture department, told Xinhua.
In another incident, 10 people sustained injuries, some in critical condition, as their vehicle skidded from a road in Kunduz province on Wednesday.
One day earlier, four travelers lost their lives and 48 others were injured due to careless driving in southern Zabul province.
Reckless driving on congested roads often lead to traffic accidents in Afghanistan, according to traffic police officials. ■
