HANOI, July 8 (Xinhua) -- A total of 272 people in Vietnam suffered from food poisoning in the first six months of 2022, of whom two died, according to the country's Preventive Health Department on Friday.
In the same period last year, 902 people were affected by food poisoning, of whom five died.
The country also detected 53,626 dengue fever cases in the six-month period, including 29 fatalities, as well as 110 cases of virus encephalitis infections including three deaths, and 21,859 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease including one death, according to the department.
Vietnam currently has 217,050 HIV carriers. To date, 111,657 people in the country have died of AIDS-related diseases, the department said. ■
