KABUL, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The first-ever Jirga or grand assembly of Afghan religious scholars and elders under the Taliban-run administration will open here in Kabul on Thursday, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported.
About 3,500 religious scholars and elders from across the country have been invited to attend the three-day jirga, the news agency added.
Participants of the jirga are expected to discuss reopening schools for girls from grade 7th to grade 12th and issues like the type of government, national flag and national anthem. ■
