ISLAMABAD, June 30 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and 15 others injured after a passenger bus collided with a trailer on Wednesday night near Rahim Yar Khan city of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, local media reported.
According to the reports, the accident took place on Multan Motorway due to over-speeding of the bus, killing one person on the spot.
The rescue teams reached the site and shifted the victims to the hospital, rescue workers told local media, adding that the death toll may rise further as most of the injured were in critical condition.
The ill-fated bus was going from Sukkur city in the country's southern Sindh province to Punjab.
Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads as well as negligence of road safety measures. ■
